Kel react to J Cole performance in Lagos Nigeria

Female rapper Kel react to J cole performance at the castle Light unlocks concert which took place in Eko hotels and suites.

The America raper and hip hop artist who recently released his fifth studio album tilted KOD.

Kel react on Twitter after witnessing the artist performance.

"After witnessing J.Cole perform last night, with a basic band and DJ, and 2 backup singers, and seeing so many people rapping along to old and new songs (KOD), I'd like to ask, why exactly do we have a problem with rap music in Nigeria?

"I've never felt so proud and plenty confused to see so many people singing along. Even J.Cole was. Be didn't plan to do songs off KOD, but the fervor with which people were singing along urged him on. I'm talking jumping and rapping along, word for word.

"After last night, you can't tell me Nigerians don't like rap music, cos this album was just released about a week ago. And then he Cole performed some old stuff, which people sang along to as well with just as much, even more enthusiasm

"So again, I ask, why exactly do we have a problem with hip hop in Nigeria??? And I'm talking real hip hop? Why do we "shun" the hip hop artists we have over here? Why do we not support and love them as much?

Benue Police command debunk rumors that herdsmen attacks another Church

The Benue State Police Command would like to advise the general public to disregard the information being circulated that four (4) mosque(s) were set ablaze in Makurdi by some hoodlums.

2. These are nothing but falsehood, believably meant to cause break down of law and order in the State.

3. It is indeed a difficult period. However, acts of insurgency being witnessed lately have nothing to do with religion, ethnic or political alienation. Therefore, in order to overcome the ongoing security challenges, the collaboration of all is required.

4. The Command appreciate the calmness and understanding of the good people of the State. We appeal that criminal elements should not be allowed to cause any civil disturbance to achieve their selfish interest.

5. All suspicious person or group of persons should be reported to the Police through telephone Nos 07058344757 or 08066006475.

Leaked WASSCE : Website operator threatens PUNCH

Hello dear,
You have done your part. Nice investigation. Now, its (sic) my turn to do my thing. Mind people you step into (sic)… you are in Nigeria, not USA. Expect us. Thank you.

”That was the message sent to our correspondent around 1pm on Wednesday after a report on exam malpractice being perpetrated in the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination was publishedThe sender’s identity number was encrypted as‘CRACK MIND.

PUNCH Metro had reported about how some pupils sitting the WASSCE being administered by the West African Examination Council cheated by subscribing to answer-peddling websites. The websites, which boasted of getting questions prior to the time of the exams, advertised various rates for different subjects and urged pupils to subscribe in bulk to get discounts.Testimonials of candidates who got excellent results after using the services of the operators were displayed on the sites.

Our correspondent had subscribed to five different websites for answers to the Commerce exam which was written on Tuesday. The websites are examcrown.com, examsort.com, naijaclass.com, waecexpo.comand guruslodge.comThe operators of the sites demanded that MTN recharge cards be sent to their phone numbers, which are 09069072051, 07063609771, 08167593558, 07032581573 and 08154766482.

They demanded N400 for link to the answer websites and N800 for direct SMS of the answers to candidates’ phonesWhile examcrown and examsort later resorted to Internet bulk SMS, using their codenames, EXAMCROWN and EXAMSORT, to update our correspondent, others used telephone numbers, including 08101038699, 07068088239.

True to their words, the websites delivered answers to both the objective and theory questions through text messages and their portals.

Shortly after the findings of PUNCH Metro werepublished on Wednesday, one of the website operators threatened to deal with our correspondent for writing the report. The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, asked our correspondent tore port the threat to the nearest police station.

He said although the sender’s contact was encrypted, the police could investigate and get all the suspects arrested. The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer,SP Chike Oti, said the threat should not be taken lightly.

He said, “I have informed the state Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, about your case and he has asked that you come to the command to report for investigation to begin into the matter. Upon their arrest, their activities will be revealed. That way, we will be able to annul their plans. Threats should not betaken lightly because a lot of journalists have been killed this way.

Meanwhile, some readers of PUNCH Online have blamed WAEC for the leakage of exam questions, saying the body should check itself.A poster, who identified herself only as Abigail, said WAEC officials sometime sent account numbers to school owners, demanding kickbacks.

She said, “Candidates are patronising the sites as a result of the higher level of corruption among WAEC officials, supervisors and invigilators (teachers). What can one say about officials sending their account numbers to proprietors and principals of some private schools just for the purpose of aiding malpractice; supervisors also collecting bribes to aid malpractice; invigilators are not left out of the mess.

If these people can perform their duties with the fear of God, the operators of those sites willhave no choice but to close down and look for something else to do. In addition, I want to strongly suggest that emphasis should not be placed on O’ Level results for the purpose of admission into higher institutions pending the time we will get it right as a nation.”A reader, Madukanaya, alleged that some WAEC workers leaked the answers to their children, friends and relatives, adding that examination malpractice was at the root of corruption in Nigeria.

A poster with the alias, Something there is, urged the exam body to grill its workers.“The question is that how did the websites get hold of the exam questions before the exam day? Why not check WAEC board itself and you’ll be surprised about the mess going on there. The websites do not set the questions, then how do they get them if WAEC officials are not involved?” he queried. One Jed said a recent remark by President Muhammadu Buhari that youths in the country were lazy might be true.

“The President may be right by saying some youths don’t like hard work but want everything free. Yes, they want free excellent results with nothing in their brains. Aren’t they truly lazy?“This is appalling; appropriate authorities must rise and save our educational system from total collapse,” the writer said.Another reader, Ahmad Kehinde, said examination malpractice had got to its peak.“This is the level of decadence we have sunk into in this country.

It’s both sad and appalling! The blame should rest squarely on WAEC Nigeria because the spokesperson admitted that they were aware of the various sites and have not been able to do anything about them! That is damning! Government should step in quickly to dislodge these evil-minded criminals. This new exam malpractice tendency is killing the scholarly values in our young ones, especially among the private school students,” another commentator, Adestar, said.

The spokesperson for WAEC, Demianus Ojijeogu, denied that officials of the organisation were involved in the malpractice. He explained that the website operators had continued to multiply due to lack of deterrents. He said, “The security agencies have been involved (in the fight against examination malpractice). The police paraded six suspects last year in Abuja.

Those people keep multiplying and the ones that are arrested are granted bail and released after some people beg for them. And that will be the end of the case.“It is not true that our officials are involved. We have done soul-searching. This thing did not start this year. I am involved in this whole process and can authoritatively say that our workers are not involved. If they were, they (the website operators) will be getting the papers a day or two to the exams.”

Who made Chimamanda Adichie the supremo of feminism ? -Fredrick Nwabufo

He Wrote:
Who made Chimamanda Adichie the supremo of feminism? Who made her the feminist papal? How did she become the feminist potentate?

By asking Hilary Clinton, former US presidential candidate, why her Twitter bio starts with “wife’,Chimamanda has not only intruded into the personal business of Clinton, but also scorned a key principle of feminism – “choice”.Besides other leanings, feminism entails freedom of choice.

A woman is at liberty to be anything she wants to be – doctor, lawyer, housewife or mother. The right to choose is principal, and this should not be prejudiced.Setting straightjacket standards and rules, which Chimamanda’s brand of feminism promotes, will result in a second captivity – by matriarchal she-lords.Notable feminists of the first and second waves such as Betty Friedan, author of ‘The Feminine Mystique’, emphasised the essence of “choice” in their works; that a woman can be a housewife or a career person if she chooses to.

The key word here is “chooses”.The imposition of personal foibles on the feminist struggle gives it a blemished complexion. The result of this is the ridiculing of women who choose to be mothers or housewives by their so-called “woke” peers.

As a matter of fact, Chimamanda’s brand of feminism makes a caricature of the movement’s goal – equality of gender. How? Chimamanda’s virulent feminism, by default, teaches all women are not equal – the housewife is less of a woman and in shackles, while the stiletto-wearing career woman is the archetypal vanquisher of the demonic patriarchal order. In all, it is still “woke” if a woman chooses “wife” as her title. It is all a matter of choice. Personally, I believe “father” is an esteemed title.

Nursing my six-year-old son from infancy has been the most rewarding duty for me. Yes, I am a father first. In conclusion, Chimamanda’s feminism is already leading some women to the hell of confusion, bitterness and misandry. Feminism should be defined by all women in different stations, according to their realities and choice, not by some self-installed matriarchal potentates.

OAP Daddy Freeze slam Chimamanda Adichie on Twitter

Freeze shared a screenshot of Barack Obama's Twitter bio which led with 'dad' and then 'husband'

He wrote;"Dear Chimamanda, I used to be a huge fan until I read your interview with Hillary Clinton.-

Now I’m somewhere in the vesica pisces between the enormous respect I had for the quality of your work and anger for what you are beginning to brandish.

Let me set the record straight, I am not a fan of Hillary Clinton, so I’m not jumping in as her guardian angel. As a matter of fact, I completely disagree with most of the decisions she took while in office.

Besides this however, woman to woman, what Hillary has achieved, you NEVER CAN, ‘no be beans’, so you suggesting how she should be addressed is what we Yorubas call ‘Iwosi’.

Even Obama refers to himself as a dad first, husband second, so what’s your point exactly? Why can’t Hillary be addressed as wife first, if she so chooses?-

Could your utterances be stemming from inadequacies you need to attend to? You might consider investigating this.

Now, let me warn you, there are no dividing forces greater than color, race, gender and tribe. These factors continue to ensure humanity remains segregated. This table you are shaking has vast consequences even you didn’t bargain for.

People have been over the last two years, urging me to preach about Jesus being black and I never have, do you know why? Because I DONT CARE ABOUT HIS COLOR, it’s irrelevant, I care about HIS MESSAGE!

In the same vein, I follow you simple because of your message, NOT BECAUSE OF YOUR GENDER OR COLOR OR TRIBE. So kindly keep the focus on the message, which in my opinion is excellent.

Don’t mar it by demarcating yourself into a ‘gender’, unless of course you are employing this as a marketing tool, which, please be warned, has its own repercussions! ~FRZ"

Eric many release official statement over The boss alleged accusation of attempted murder

The statement,

On Friday 20th April, the Nigerian Police acting on a report by estranged Eric Many act, Runtown escorted record label owner, Dilly Umenyiora to their office for questioning following a report of threat to life.

He was questioned, dropped his statement on claims by Runtown that his life was threatened which was found out to be false and Okwudili Umenyiora immediately returned home.

This is not the first time Runtown has accused his label boss of pulling a gun on him. In 2016, he pulled the same stunt and he's repeating it again to create cheap publicity.

Every time the record label takes legal actions through a law court against Runtown through injunction for severe damages to the label, Runtown results to cheap stunts and bringing up issues like threat to life with a gun which is totally false.

This doesn't take away the fact that there's a Federal High Court Injunction against Runtown and as at the last court sitting on April 16th, he expected the case to be dismissed but it didn't happen. That's why he resorted to blackmail.

The label maintains that there was never a threat to Runtown's life directly by Dilly Umenyiora or anyone affiliated to the label as explained to the Nigerian Police.
Eric Many LTD since this case began has been civil and remain to civil by following through with the court injunction and never resort to violence or blackmail.

The president and the lazy Nigeria youth - Seyi Law

Ace comedian Seyi Law react to the president speech about Nigerian youth, He Caption on Instagram.

It is a thing of joy that more people are becoming politically aware in Nigeria, but it is sad a lot of these awareness has created a huge number of political commentators due to the ineffectiveness and incompetence of the Government.
Political and economic blunders are been committed daily by the government that seem to be more comfortable speaking about and against its citizens outside the country than within.
Effective communication is key to building a better relationship between the Government and its people. When a Government fails or try to shut down the voice of its citizens or try hard to justify its constant mistake, it becomes a big problem.
Let's look at the President's recent utterance at the detriment of the highest percentage of the country's population on who's votes he rode to power.

While the outrage continues on his choice of words in describing, generalizing and downplaying the efforts of this group that majority rose from the inepitine of his generation to create a better environment for themselves despite the suffocation of several government policies is little compare to the lack of comprehension of the President on the questions asked him.
How do we justify the fact that the President derailed from the question asked him to shutting down potential investments opportunity that could benefit the willing and available percentage of this population?
How do you even begin to think that the quest for better or free education, good healthcare and housing, a sense of entitlement? If you are one of those who is trying to justify his blunder, you need psychiatric evaluation.
It speaks some much on the stupidity of the older generations and those that have ruled, governed and are governing us that a lot of your suppose human resources are not educated and should be a thing of same coming from the President of the country.

I do hope that the lack of education among the citizens that many of them have used as an easy ride to power would end some day soon so we can a better and more effective people in power. Some of the defenders of foolishness even try to defend it with he didn't say lazy when you can easily google and search for what,"sit down.

Nigeria school feeding program redefined Education - Al-Jazeera

  • Abeokuta, Nigeria - Dozens of children cheer at the Baptist Nursery and Primary School compound in Bode-Ijaiye suburb of Abeokuta city, the capital of Ogun state, as their friends try to outpace each other on a 100-metre dash in a dusty field.
  • Ogun state inter-school football and track-and-field competitions are just around the corner, and teachers want to prepare the children physically and mentally for the task ahead.Away from the laughter and shouts of encouragement on the field, four female cooks with aprons on top of traditional indigo-dyed adire gowns ladle porridge mixed with vegetables and fish into hundreds of stainless steel bowls with lids.
  • As the cooks ambled into a nearby classroom and began to place bowls on wooden desks, the 64 pupils remained quiet. After the dish was served, the students stood and began to sing "Bless this food O Lord for Christ sake Amen." Then they sat down and began to eat."I want to say a big thank you to the federal government of Nigeria and the Ogun state government for providing food for us," 10-year-old Ramon Samuel told Al Jazeera before opening the lid on his bowl.
  • Samuel and his classmates receive free meals every school day thanks to a national programme, which aims to provide nutritious meals to young schoolchildren in order to increase enrolment, help them stay in school, and reduce malnutrition, particularly among children from low-income families. The Home Grown School Feeding initiative, a movement launched in 2003, is driven by national governments to improve the lives of schoolchildren and farmers alike.
  •  It is practise acros the continent, including in Ghana, Kenya, Mali, Ethiopia, Namibia, Botswana, Ivory Coast, and South Africa. The concept is not confined just to the continent as Brazil, Japan, and Italy have similar programmes aimed at keeping children fed while promoting local agriculture.Though the scheme began in December 2016 in Nigeria, it is not entirely new here. Nigeria's former President Olusegun Obasanjo launched a pilot programme in 13 states in September 2005, but after a few years, only southwestern Osun state maintained it.
  • The plan was reintroduced by President Muhammadu Buhari in December 2016 as part of his administration's multi-million dollar National Social Investment Programmes to address poverty, hunger and unemployment in Nigeria. The school programme operates in 20 out of Nigeria's 36 states and has fed nearly seven million pupils in about 40,000 public schools, the programme's manager Abimbola Adesanmi told Al Jazeera. She said more than 68,800 jobs have also been created through the initiative.Knock-on effect Adeleke Adewolu is the commissioner of special duties and inter-governmental affairs in Ogun state.
  • He said the meals are not only nutritious but also serve as a "social safety net"for low-income households."If children eat nutritious food it will enhance their learning ability and this will have a knock-on effect on their cognitive development and help to encourage enrolment and retention," Adewolu said. The programme provides income for thousands of people, including farmers, cooks recruited from local communities, and those involved in the processing and transportation of food, he said.In Ogun, the coordinating team collaborated with the ministries of education, health, agriculture, women's affairs and community development to divide farmers into cooperativegroups and link them to about 3,000 cooks whowere trained and deployed to more than 1,500 schools.
  • Farmers received training in seed quality and fertilisers to grow enough food to meet demand. The cooks - who are responsible for procuring ingredients for the daily meals - are given a budget of 70 naira ($0.23) per child each day. With help from the state government, they received 57,000 naira ($188) in loans to purchase water drums, pots, bowls, uniforms, and cooking utensils."It gives me great joy to help in feeding the children in Baptist Primary School," said Omole Imoleayo, who left a career in banking to join the programme.
  •  "We receive our payment without delays and I have more time for my family now."Sourcing foods locally helps millions of small farmers who produce up to 90 percent of Nigeria's food but are mired in grinding poverty."This has created a well-structured market for the farmers since they now know how much to produce and when it is needed," said Tinuola Shopeju, Ogun's programme manager.Shopeju said the initiative is a "perfect model" for addressing food insecurity and improving local agricultural production in Nigeria, which imports about $20bn worth of food annually.
  • The menu differs daily and every state adopts its own meal schedule. In Ogun, schoolchildrenget rice, stewed fish, and beans but also delicacies such as Ikokore - a dish made from water yam.DewormingNigeria's programme also offers health services including deworming children in public primary schools across 17 states. Adesanmi said worms affect the health of schoolchildren, potentially causing anaemia, malnourishment, and the impairment of mentaland physical development."In the short term, children with worms may be too sick or tired to attend school or to concentrate. Basically, we do not want to feed worms, rather children," she said.Teachers in Ogun say the programme is not only helping young students stay in school, but also attracting those from private schools. Ogunkola Adefunke Deborah, headteacher of Baptist Nursery and Primary School, said her pupils now "come to classes regularly" and are"very punctual"."We have over 80 new pupils, most of them came from private schools," she said. "Before you hardly see parents coming here, but now they come to ask us why their kids beg to be brought to school early and why they always return home with their pocket money."Deborah shared an anecdote of a boy who refused to go home even when he was sick because he didn't want to miss a meal.
  • Rebecca Faronbi, 72, was devastated when her son died and left her with four grandchildren to take care of. Her three-year-old granddaughter now receives the free meals at school."Until the feeding programme started I was struggling to feed the children. My granddaughter wakes me up before 7am and tells me she wants to go to school because she will get free food there," Faronbi said in the Yoruba language, which is widely spoken in southwestern Nigeria.
  • Rampant malnutritionResearch has shown that 42 percent of schoolchildren in Nigeria suffer malnutrition, and this has caused a high rate of absenteeism.UNICEF estimates about 2.5 million Nigerian children under the age of five suffer from severe malnutrition each year, with about half amillion children dying from it.With a quality assurance tracking system known as #TrackWithUs, the programme handlers have urged Nigerians to visit nearby schools to check if meals meet the required standards and report any cooks who aren't serving proper food.Several cooks were fired in southern Cross River state last November for serving biscuits in lieu of meals."The campaign has helped us track activities inschools and strengthened our existing monitoring and supervision mechanism," Adesanmi said. "Since there is a reward and sanction system in place we have been able to name and shame cooks who do not comply with our standards."A major barrier to the programme's success is the inability of state governments to scale up the meals to senior classes in elementary schools. The federal government caters to pupils from Grades 1 to 3, but with many statesstruggling to pay salaries, pupils in higher grades are not being fed.Experts hope the government will not repeat the same mistakes made a decade ago when a combination of inadequate funding, poor logistics, and corruption crippled the scheme."We need to promote community participation, community ownership, community implementation, community monitoring, strong institutional arrangements and multi-sector partnerships," Adesanmi said

Nobody will read my biography because of my past- Ibrahim Babangida

Nobody will read my biography because of my past .

Former military ruler, Ibrahim Babangida, says Nigerians no longer take him seriously because he annulled the June 12,1993 Presidential election adjudged the most credible election in the history of Nigeria.

Babangida said this during a programme on Channels Television titled, ‘Roadmap 2019’ on Monday. When asked if he would publish his biography soon to tell his story, Babangida said nobody would read it because of his past.

When asked to explain further if it was true that people dismissed his words because of the annulment of June 12 election, he said, “That is right. They say, ‘he cancelled the freest election in the history but he annulled it’ but nobody gives me credit for conducting the freest election in the country.”

The former maximum ruler said he was hopeful that the younger generation would understand why he annulled the election. He added, “We try to rationalise why we did what we did but nobody is prepared to listen to us. So, it is a matter of time. One day, the younger generation will say they have heard one side and want to hear the other side of the story. “Maybe by then we will have a better society that is prepared; that is well-informed of what happened within a period of their existence. They will then be able to say this is the true story.”
